TRONQUE MUSE x TANI EDWARDS

1. To start, can you tell us a little about yourself and this current season of life you’re in?

Hello! My name is Tanisha, I’m 30 years old living in Melbourne with my husband and two beautiful babies. I’ve been modelling for close to 10 years, having just slowed down after welcoming my babies, Solomon 3 and Violet 10 months old. Motherhood has been the softest, slowest, most beautiful and most intense season of my life. So many learnings, so much evolving, it is as difficult as it is fantastic. It is worth every hardship.

2. You balance motherhood, work, content creation and everyday life so beautifully. What has this chapter taught you most about yourself?

I think I’ve realised that I can struggle with relinquishing control. This chapter has helped me with embracing the moments that are hard, as well as the soft ones. I feel proud and accomplished as long as there is happiness and love in every day for my family.

3. Your style has such an effortless, elevated feel to it. How would you describe your personal style right now?

My personal style at the moment is largely about functionality. Every outfit I wear needs to allow for running after a 3 year old and breastfeeding a 10 month old. Thus, lots of oversized and low cut tops are in my rotation at the moment. I lean towards more masculine silhouettes for my everyday dressing, and like to use my hair and makeup as a point of accessorising. Truthfully, a sharp, black, winged liner is the most defining feature of my personal style.

4. What are the pieces or wardrobe staples you find yourself reaching for most lately?

With the turn of the weather in Melbourne, my most reached for pieces at the moment are two of the most beautiful wool sweaters, hand-knitted by my mother in law. They live in my husband’s closet, but I wear one of them nearly every day.

5. What does a typical day look like for you at the moment? Are there any rituals or routines you always come back to?

I spend every day with my kids. We wake up very slowly every morning, allowing time to cuddle in bed and warm up for the day ahead. Most days we end up at my parents’ house with the rest of my siblings and their babies. Between us, there are 7 children running around. Whilst it can be completely chaotic, the awareness that these are the best days of their lives is overwhelmingly rewarding.

6. As a mum of two, how do you carve out moments for yourself amongst the chaos of everyday life?

I have really had to adapt to how time poor motherhood has made me, and take any opportunity I can to reset and recharge. It’s been hard to adjust, but being flexible and adaptable has been the only way I’ve been able to access daily moments for myself.

7. How has your relationship with self-care and your body evolved since becoming a mother?

It can be hard to accept the ways in which motherhood has changed my body, while also seeing the beauty in those changes, how each one was necessary in growing and birthing my children. I try to be soft with myself, to practice self-care that honours my body inside and out. I aim to move in ways that support my body after babies; supporting my stretched core, strengthening my overworked, overloaded back and shoulders. I like to use skincare that feels nourishing, softening scars and hydrating dull skin. Self care since becoming a mother needs to feel holistic, and intentional.

8. Are there any non-negotiables in your makeup, skincare and bodycare routine at the moment?

My already tired skin has been hating the cold weather lately, and thus absolutely loving the Imbibe Collagen Jelly. It is super hydrating and leaves my face feeling smooth and plump again! In terms of bodycare, two pregnancies and two caesarean sections have left my torso skin in need of some love. I use the Tronque Scar Concentrate and Firming Butter religiously every morning and night. I love these two products especially, I began to see the results incredibly quickly, and they’ve helped me to feel more confident in my postpartum body!

9. Since trying Tronque, which products have naturally found a place in your routine?

I honestly don’t think I’ll ever go without the Scar Concentrate or Firming Butter ever again. Absolute staples in my self-care routine.

10.
What do you enjoy most about taking time for body care specifically?

I truly enjoy the feeling of giving back to my body, taking care of it and being thankful for all it has afforded me. Using beautiful products on the body that birthed my babies feels like a small way of honouring myself.

11. Your content always feels very authentic and considered. What’s currently inspiring you creatively?

I’m trying hard to find inspiration in the everyday. Motherhood has made me slow down so much, I’ve had time to notice the beauty in the small moments. I like to romanticise the routines and details that may go unnoticed; the beauty in the chaos that is a cafe with two young children, a park playground while one sleeps and the other slides, or making a meal while trying to keep them both preoccupied. I feel pulled to show up online in a way that is genuine and consider without being overly polished.

12. Looking ahead, what are you embracing most in this next chapter - personally, professionally or creatively?

I’m looking forward to re-exploring different pockets of my identity now that I’m feeling more settled into motherhood. I’m looking forward to reading more, writing more, being playful and moving my body, for health and just for fun. I want to do more work that I love, and feel aligned, and authentic. I want to live and work intentionally, whatever the hell that means!! I feel like I’m at a point where I feel comfortable to open myself back up, reignite passions that have been paused all alongside mothering my two beautiful loves.
