TRONQUE MUSE x CILLA PENNY

Cilla Penny recently returned from a trip through Italy, where time spent in Tuscany, Rome, Florence and along the Ligurian coast offered a moment of pause, inspiration, and connection with the beauty of everyday Italian life.

1. You’ve just returned from Italy, where did you visit and what was the highlight?

My cousin got married in Tuscany, so our whole family celebrating under the Tuscan sun had to be the highlight. We were also lucky enough to explore Rome, Florence and the Ligurian Coast which were equally as beautiful and picturesque.

2. Tell us about any hidden gems, beautiful stays or the best coffee you discovered while away.

Camogli was a real gem. Tucked into the Ligurian coastline, it’s a tranquil fishing village known for its colourful harbour and exceptional seafood. I loved its sense of stillness and community.

We also had a beautiful stay at QC Termeroma Roma, it was our last night of the trip. Near the airport, it’s the perfect spot to unwind before the long flight home. The thermal baths are incredible, I'd highly recommend a night there if you have the chance.

3. What does your body care and beauty routine look like on holiday, especially seaside escapes with daily swimming and time in the sun?

My routine was blissfully simple. After being in the sea and sun, I'd use Tronque's Triple Active Body Milk and lock it in with the hydrating Firming Butter, then apply the Vitamin C Body Oil in the evenings for a little extra barrier support. I also packed the Gua Sha, which was very useful for a post-flight de-puffing. Beyond that, plenty of sunscreen during the day and very little makeup.

4. Can you share a little about your role as wholesale manager, from day to day and across different markets?

I oversee Harris Tapper's wholesale business across New Zealand, Australia and the US. The role is a balance of relationship management, market development and working closely with our founders on the long-term wholesale direction of the brand. Day to day, I'm meeting with buyers, presenting new collections, reviewing performance and identifying opportunities. It's an exciting time for the brand, and I feel very fortunate to be part of the team.

5. When you’re travelling frequently for work, what becomes essential - the small rituals that remain constant regardless of location?

I've found it's the small routines that keep you balanced. A morning walk or coffee in the sun and prioritising nourishing food. At the end of the day, I try to take a moment to reflect and always be grateful for the opportunity to travel.

6. What are you currently feeling inspired by, whether within your work or more broadly?

I'm feeling particularly inspired by the women of Italy. There’s an effortless elegance to the way they dress that never feels overthought. Whether they were heading to the market, meeting friends, or simply walking through town, there was a sense of pride in how they presented themselves. The quiet confidence in their own style was something I really admired.

7. Which Tronque product do you reach for most, and what makes it a standout in your routine?

The Vitamin C Body Oil is the product I reach for most. It feels incredibly luxurious and gives the skin a beautiful glow. Once you start using it, that healthy, hydrated look becomes slightly addictive.
