Founder Tanné Snowden's NYC Edit

Since moving from New Zealand to New York to grow Tronque, founder Tanné Snowden has embraced the energy of the city - while finding her own ways to slow down and reset.

From the skincare she reaches for every morning to her favourite places to eat, move, shop and unwind, discover the things currently making up Tanné's New York life.

The Morning

'I usually wake around 7am - I work late being across NZ hours, so the mornings move slowly on purpose.

The first thing I reach for is warm lemon water, followed by a matcha with almond milk and a cup of bone broth. It's a slow ritual that is both grounding, and the matcha energises me before the day begins.

My morning skincare is quick, focused and results-driven. I layer Irene Forte serums, follow with an Angela Caglia moisturiser, and finish with Tatcha 50 spf and a light layer of Natura Bissé tinted moisturiser.

If time allows, I'll stop by Happier Grocery for a quick breakfast or another matcha before moving into the day. I try to fit in a workout, either Pilates at Project Sculpt HIIT, or a class at Solidcore. That balance of strength and movement wakes me up properly and puts me in the right mindset before I even open my laptop.

And time with our dog Liberty is non-negotiable: a quick walk along the West Side Highway or the Jersey City boardwalk before the day really begins.

Mid-Morning - 10am to 12pm

Most mornings are a mix of meetings and store visits, often checking in with partners like Violet Grey, or spending time in Bluemercury locations across New York. Being on the ground matters as it's where you really understand how the brand is being experienced.

We're lucky enough to now be in 11 Bluemercury doors across the city, so I'll often move between stores, connecting with teams, observing customer interaction, and making sure everything feels aligned, from merchandising to messaging. It's those behind-the-scenes moments that are the most valuable.

The day can shift quickly from retail to meetings, whether with partners, press, or internal teams, alongside events, founder appearances, or industry conferences. It's fast-paced, but being in New York means everything is within reach, and there's an energy to it that constantly pushes the brand forward.'

Lunch

'Lunch is usually somewhere I can keep moving. St Ambroeus is my favourite - my go to is the beetroot and avocado salad with chicken. Otherwise it's something quick and clean from Loconut (Chelsea), Thisbowl (Noho) or Springbone (Midtown). After a quick, nutritious lunch and on the days that need it, an espresso to follow, I am reset for a busy afternoon.'

The Afternoon - 2pm to 6pm

'This is the heart of the workday. Buyer meetings, account management with wholesale partners, store walk-throughs, content capture, and time on new product development.

It's the part of the day where the brand is actually built involving long conversations about formulation, line-by-line packaging reviews, retail forecasting, and the tiny adjustments to ensure our products are perfect.

The evening - 6pm to 8pm

I'll often refresh, change, and head back into Manhattan to meet a friend or a colleague.

A few of my regulars include Danny's, Fleming by Bilboquet, or the Restoration Hardware rooftop. I'm also a member at Casa Cipriani so I'll often head there to work in the afternoon and stay on for dinner or one of their events. They put on the most beautifully unexpected nights - a Celine trunk show, live jazz, a backgammon tournament, or tequila tastings. It's become a second living room!

On Fridays, we pack the car and drive less than two hours upstate to our home in Millbrook. Since moving from New Zealand to New York, I've realised how much I need a genuine nature fix, and Millbrook is that. A weekend upstate is often spent walking the grounds, dinner at the local Italian, cooking, reading and, honestly, a bit of working. It's peaceful and quiet and full of people who moved there for the same reason - to escape the hustle of the city.'

Wind Down - 10pm to Midnight

'I love turning a spare moment into a mini skincare and bodycare ritual. After a bath, I start with bodycare - dry brushing and gua sha first, then layering our Firming Body Butter, Vitamin C Body Oil and Triple Active Body Milk together. Taking the time to really massage them is incredibly relaxing, and leaves my skin feeling nourished, hydrated and glowing.

I'll often pair this with a calming facial routine. Depending on how much time I have, I might reach for my Currentbody red light mask I was gifted which is genuinely incredible, or take a few extra minutes to layer some of my favourite serums and moisturisers. I also use a Higherdose PEMF mat every night - I gifted it to my fiancé, and now I am using it just as much!

If we’re at Millbrook, the phone goes away, the lights go down, and I'll make a cup of herbal tea, or pour a glass of wine, depending on what kind of day it's been.

On a weeknight, the wind down looks like a few pages of a book, a trade article, or something light playing in the background. New York is never silent, so I sleep with earplugs and a mask -  it's the only way to really switch off. Keeping a consistent bedtime and giving myself time to properly slow down is what makes all the difference.'
