Potent, expensive and rare. Red algae, kelp and wakame seaweed are abundant in bioactives, vitamins, minerals and enzymes.
Rarely used in skincare, TRONQUE uses three types of ocean plants in our bodycare.
NEW ZEALAND RARE RED ALGAE
This patented ingredient features a viscoelastic matrix of bioactive, bioavailable and biomimetic polymers from native New Zealand Red Seaweed. The hydrating and plumping effect of red seaweed on the skin, is attributed to the various mix of versatile biomimetic sulphated gycosaminoglycans (sGAG). These natural biopolymers are known to form a fish-net like matrix that can help hold water molecules, while also acting as a structural scaffold to tighten the skin. The sGAGs from red seaweeds have structural features that resemble the “eight essential sugars” of human cells, allowing specific binding to proteins, polysaccharides and bioactives within cells to induce and elevate focused activities.
- A single multitasking input that replaces multiple ingredients and so significantly reduces formulating and manufacturing time and cost
- Raw processed via patent-pending TPT Xtraction® Bio-liquefaction
- Sustainably sourced from biodiverse, pristine and nuclear-free New Zealand.
- ADDRESSING Premature ageing, fine lines, wrinkles, dry & dehydrated skin, sagging skin
ATLANTIC OCEAN KELP
Our Atlantic sourced Ocean Kelp is a multitasking ingredient that provides firming-, anti-wrinkle, detoxifying, anti-pollution, and photo-aging protection agents. It is a known regulator of progerin for mature skin. It is a skin protector that supports aging and stress effects of the skin. It comes from the arctic winged kelp alaria esculenta. Made up of a web of elastic fibres which ensures cohesion and firmness of all the cell architecture.
Atlantic Ocean Kelp is an anti-aging active ingredient that is a downregulator of progerin for mature skin: -79%. It assures a detoxifying action through proteasome stimulation. It is a skin protector that reverses the age effects. It comes from the Arctic winged kelp Alaria esculenta. It lives in extreme conditions in agitated but transparent waters where sea pressure can exceed 6T/m².
It is made up of a web of elastic fibers, which:
- preserves tissue integrity against compression &
- ensures cohesion & firmness of all the cell architecture (similar role that proteic fibers & elastin play in the Skin).
- It is sourced in Europe.
Benefits on volunteers:
After 1 month cutometer:
- Elasticity: +20%
- Firmness: +25%
- Self-evaluation: improves firmness: 90%
- Decreases the depth of wrinkles: 80% of volunteers
Mode of action:
- Downregulates progerin for mature skin: -79%
Detoxifying through proteasome stimulation
- In vitro: Proteasome stimulation: +24%
- Decreases IL1, 6 & 8: -12% to 21%
- TNFα: -14 %
- IFNy: -8 %
MARLBOROUGH SOUNDS WAKAME SEAWEED
Our New Zealand native Wakame Seaweed is naturally extracted, traceable and sustainably harvested in the pristine Marlborough Sounds. Marine plants have evolved to withstand complex ecological stresses, including temperature extremes, changes in pressure and pH levels, UV exposure and dehydration. They respond by producing protective structural and bioactive compounds, including polysaccharides (alguronic acid and fucoidan), carotenoids (fucoxanthin) and phenolics.
Carotenoids like Fucoxanthin are antioxidant and anti-inflammatory pigments that protect the cells of seaweed against sun damage. The bioactive components we use are maximised during non-chemical/solvent extraction, and tested to be free from pesticides and GMOs.
The way these bioactive compounds and micronutrients are captured creates a unique ingredient proven to protect skin cells and decrease wrinkle depth. Packed full of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes and polysaccharides, Wakame Seaweed is celebrated to detoxify, moisturise, soothe and rejuvenate the skin by deeply penetrating the epidermis, forming a moisturising barrier and delivering its anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing properties.
